Ngaarr Dhuwi Girls Connect Through Art, Dance & Culture

Last Wednesday, the Ngaarr Dhuwi girls joined Renae for an inspiring cultural session filled with art, dance, and storytelling in our yarning circle. The session was a beautiful opportunity to connect with Country, culture, and each other.

To begin, the girls removed their shoes, grounding themselves and forming a deeper connection to the land beneath them. Renae shared her personal journey, encouraging the girls to dream big and never give up, no matter how hard it gets.

The session was hands-on and immersive, with four creative stations:
🎨 Handprint stories – expressing identity and connection through art
🌀 Clay Aboriginal symbols – learning the meanings behind traditional designs
🌿 Headbands with shells and bark – crafting with natural materials
💃 Traditional dancing – moving to the rhythms of culture

The girls loved every moment, engaging in each activity with enthusiasm and pride. It was a powerful and unforgettable experience, strengthening their connection to culture and community. A huge thank you to Renae for sharing her knowledge and wisdom! 💛✨
